UVW or Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is the weight of your trailer, along with the cargo and passengers that you plan to transport. It must be measured on a scale. This weight also includes the attached towed vehicle and the tow vehicle, assuming both vehicles are equipped with brakes. The UVW is also referred to as Gross Vehicle Weight or Curb Weight. This is the dry weight of the trailer as it left the factory.

GVWR is the maximum weight of the trailer, and the combined GVWR of the tow vehicle and trailer should be equal or greater.
